چکیده

The cation distribution of the NTC thermistor spinel N i M n 2 O 4 $NiM{n}_2{O}_4$ was studied in temperature range from 55°C to 900°C, using a combined in-situ neutron diffraction and thermopower study. Rietveld refinements data reveal dependence degree inversion with an parameter 0.70(1) at 900°C 0.87(1) 55°C. Thermopower measurements were evaluated modified Heikes formula [Mn4+]/[Mn3+]-ratio on octahedral sites structure calculated considering spin orbital degeneracy. disproportionation parameter, determined independently as function temperature, used calculate whole range. At high within stability spinel, is characterized by moderate concentration B + $Ni_B^{2 }$ = 0.71(2) small tendency towards 3 $Mn_B^{3 0.98(2). 55°C, enhanced illustrated large 0.87(2), 0.24(2) content indicates extensive Mn-disproportionation. Finally, conclusions regarding possible ageing mechanisms this important material are drawn. This article protected copyright. All rights reserved

Recent magnetic structure studies by neutron diffraction

2014 A review is presented of several magnetic structure studies performed recently by neutron diffraction methods. These include a study of the low temperature transition in Fe3O4 by Hamilton and experiments by Roth on the magnetic structure ambiguities of the transition element monoxides. Recent studies using polarized neutron beam techniques are described and data presented on the ferromagne...

In-situ neutron diffraction study of non-convergent cation ordering in the (Fe3O4)1-x(MgAl2O4)x spinel solid solution

Non-convergent cation ordering in the (Fe3O4)1-x(MgAl2O4)x solid solution was investigated using in-situ time-of-flight neutron powder diffraction. The approach to equilibrium in a sample with x = 0.75 was observed at 923 K by performing in-situ structure refinements at intervals of 5 min, and the ordering behavior was traced through the time-dependence of the lattice parameter, the cation-oxyg...

High Temperature Deformation Mechanism in Hierarchical and Single Precipitate Strengthened Ferritic Alloys by In Situ Neutron Diffraction Studies

The ferritic Fe-Cr-Ni-Al-Ti alloys strengthened by hierarchical-Ni2TiAl/NiAl or single-Ni2TiAl precipitates have been developed and received great attentions due to their superior creep resistance, as compared to conventional ferritic steels. Although the significant improvement of the creep resistance is achieved in the hierarchical-precipitate-strengthened ferritic alloy, the in-depth underst...

Oxides: neutron and synchrotron X-ray diffraction studies

We shall review some results from several areas of oxide science in which neutron scattering and X-ray synchrotron scattering exercise a complementary role to high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The very highresolution time-of-flight neutron diffraction technique and its role in studies of the magnetic structure of oxides will especially be reviewed. The selected topics of structu...

Neutron Diffraction and Mössbauer Studies of Zinc Ferrite

It is shown by neutron diffraction and Mossbauer spectrometry that the formation of a long range magnetic order in zinc ferrite depends sensitivily on the content of divalent iron. The experimental data favour a non collinear model of the magnetic structure. Zinc ferrite is a normal spinel with the tetrahedral A sites occupied by Zn2+ ions and the octahedral B sites occupied by Fe3+ ions. Any m...
